Kopua Farmlots is a unique subdivision containing large areas of preserved native forest that are threatened by damaging pests and weeds impacting ecosystems and agriculture across Hawai’i. The KFA invasive species committee was created out of community interest to protect native flora and manage on-going threats such as Rapid ʻŌhia Death fungal disease, little fire ants, coconut rhinoceros beetle, and aggressive Himalayan Raspberry spreading along roads.
There are many helpful resources included for property owners and stewards who wish to learn more.
In the future there will be in-person workshops and volunteer days. We invite KFA owners to join the committee by emailing Erika at volcanoviewfarm@gmail.com
