Kopua Farmlots is a subdivision located at the end of South Kopua Road, between Fern Acres to the east, and Eden Roc Estates to the west. Since Kopua Farmlots has only recently been improved, it appears as a blank spot on many maps. There are about nine miles of roads, and about one hundred lots in our subdivision. Click on the map to the right for a satelite view. It's really large, so please be patient. |
Kopua Farmlots Association is a non-profit incorporated entity that exists to provide services for the Kopua Farmlots community. The associations primary responsibility is collecting funds for maintaining the roads.
Since there are very few lots in our subdivision (around a hundred, compared to around a thousand for many subdivsions), we are different somehow, and someday I'll think of what it is.
The subdivision was divided back in the 70's. The roads were not cut until Strother Timberlands Ltd., an international land company headquartered in Troy, Alabama, bought 2,180 acres from Hawaiian Anthuriums in the name of its subsiduary, Puna Forestry LLC. Before Kopua Farmlot parcels became available, Puna Forestry LLC formed a non-profit; Kopua Farmlots Association Incorporated. Each parcel owner automatically became part of the Association and pays dues to the association to pay it's expensise. This is where we are today.
